The Rare Barrel

In 2022, Cellarmaker Brewing officially took over The Rare Barrel, a renowned Berkeley-based sour beer producer, keeping the production staff and space going. With this addition, Cellarmaker aims to continue The Rare Barrel’s legacy of producing high-quality sour and barrel-aged beers while expanding its own portfolio. The move is seen as a blending of two innovative California breweries, with Cellarmaker bringing its hop-forward expertise to complement The Rare Barrel's mastery of sour ales.

Fans of both brands can expect new and exciting collaborations while maintaining the unique brewing styles that each is known for.
