Rolling Solo: NZ 109
Rollin’ Solo is our new series of single-hop IPAs built to showcase the up-and-coming hop varieties our brewers are most excited about. With a lower ABV platform built on pilsner malt and minimal yeast character, Rollin’ Solo is a definitive exhibition of each hop’s individual character. First up is NZ-109, a brand new experimental hop variety from NZ Hops’ Bract Breeding Programme. NZ-109 is a triploid selection of American Comet, UK Fuggle and Late Cluster, and Slovenian Saaz. Bred and grown in the terroir of the Tasman valleys of New Zealand, this hop has leapt in front of the pack as a highly expressive aroma hop. NZ-109 showcases notes of juicy peach layered over tropical passionfruit and mango, all bundled up with a zip of tangerine and lime zest. The hop also presents subtle hints of white wine, honeydew melon, and a distinct white pepper character.
