Festbier

In the beer drinking world nothing represents the coming of Fall more than Oktoberfest. The attendees of this yearly celebration welcome a slightly heartier beer style to accompany them through the transition from relentless summer heat to cooler fall days and brisk nights. Cellarmaker’s Festbier is a collaboration with our very good friends from Portland’s Living Haus Beer Co and it is just the hearty lager we all require. Our fest lager is brewed with 100% Alameda’s own Admiral Maltings malted barleys for a freshly baked loaf and shortbread richness balanced by some brightness and acidity from the German lager yeast and German hops. We employed a single decoction mash step to enhance the foam and further deepen the complexity of the malt character. After 5 weeks of cold conditioning we are ready to pour it into your stein. Prost!
