Festbier

In the beer drinking world, nothing represents the coming of Fall more than Oktoberfest. The attendees of this yearly celebration welcome a slightly heartier beer style to accompany them through the transition from relentless summer heat to cooler Fall days and brisk nights. Cellarmaker’s Festbier is just the hearty lager we all require. This year, we eschewed the standard German-sourced malt and decided to focus on what was locally available. Partnering with Admiral Maltings in Alameda, CA, we brewed this version of Cellarmaker Festbier with Admiral Pilsner, Pacific Victor and Midway malts to showcase subtle notes of freshly baked bread and shortbread, all of which are balanced by the brightness of German Hallertau Mittelfrüh hops. After months of cold conditioning, the beer is ready for your stein! Prost!
